Kirjanik, kirjanduskriitik ja Prantsuse Akadeemia liige Antoine Compagnon:

Innovation is linked to destruction in business context. In art it's linked to heritage. New, Novus in Latin means the last, - the ultimate, closest to the end.

Arvo Pärt, 2004: If You take all the questions and problems as if it were the moment before your death, you receive clear, laconic, and correct answers. . .

So the new is not new.

Acceptance and passion for the new, same time suffering of the new. About modernity by Charles Baudelaire. /.../

To imitate is to make variations... Of the existing elements. Art escaped from tradionality... Artist adds his own expression.

Gabriel Tarde wrote about imitation.

Paul Hazard, Paul Valery.

The new can take place of any quality.

Schock, surprise, wonder.

New is very general word. There are many types of new.

Bacon: We are able to think outside of the box. In French the same is linear, French can't translate that "box" sentence. French can change perspective in that same sense.

Gilbert Simondon. "l'Invention Dan's Les Techniques"

Robert J. Gordon " The Rise and Fall of American Growth" (The U.S. standard of living since the civil war).

Internet didn't produce growth. Will ai will produce growth? Yes, it's more effective for the economical growth than internet.

William J. Baumol "The Cost Disease" (Why Computers Get Cheaper and Health Care Doesn't)

Economists: the problem is that culture always costs more. There are no productivity gains. Salaries are high. The work is extremely expensive compared to the effectively produced goods. Teachers, educators, culture workers compared to hairdressers - nice or bad haircut... If the barber does it faster, then it is badly done. In haircut business, no innovation from 1955, then Electric clipper came, cost is still the same, before and after the electric clipper... Reading quickly is always bad, there is no speed reading.

The Museum of Innocence, Istanbul

Enormous amounts of money for research about productivity gains...

1830 invention of metal deep pen. Writers were against it - you will write without thinking. Only who adapted was Dumais. But for education it was effective.

Reading is very vulnerable nowadays - no productivity gains...

Digital reading. Distance reading against close reading. US. 2008 63.9$ and 2014 3564.4$ sales (digital books). 2017 already more e-books sold in US than tradional books. And then again 2022 e-book has only 11% of the markets, audio book will be the future, increases every year 10 %.

Tradional book wins. Two essential qualities already before innovation. 1. nomadic (one can take it with him) and 2. Non-linear, it is accessible, the rhythm, to go back, to go forward. So e-book has minor innovative sides.

in Estonia about 6% of e-book sales among all the books.

Reading can't be speeded. Nowadays multitasking is very difficult to escape. Neuroscientists tell that people can't do two different things at the same time.

Will we die with only and only the literature produced by ai, which would combine different elements of big data. The end of literature?

Lawyers, doctors will be before literature with productivity gains because of ai.

Sait-on ce que c'est

qu'ecrire? Une ancienne et

tres vague mais jalouse

pratique, dont git le sens au

mystere du coeur.

Qui l'accomplit, integralement,

se retranche.

Mallarme

Do we know what writing is?

An ancient and very vague but

jealous practice, the meaning

of which lies in the mystery of the heart.

Whoever accomplishes it, in its

integrity, withdraws.
